Franklin House, M.D.

For more than four decades, Franklin House, M.D., a co-author of The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle, has helped thousands of patients.

After serving four years as the president of Lifestyle Center of America, he has served the past three years as Chairman of the Board.

His Texas based practice was in Killeen for 22 years and then for 12 years in Marfa and Alpine, Texas.

In 1981, he was a founding member, and later served as chairman, of Canvasback Missions, Inc., a medical, dental, and nursing mission serving the islands of the North Pacific (Marshall Islands, and Federated States of Micronesia). He served as a short-term missionary doctor for 15 stints over 13 years in the Pacific Islands. He also served for five episodes of short-term service in Transylvania, Romania, at the Herghelia Lifestyle Medical Center.

In 1978, he co-founded a hospital. Metroplex Hospital is now a 237-bed acute-care hospital in Killeen, Texas. He also served as its chief of staff for multiple terms. In 1972, he co-founded a long-term nursing care company, House/Cross Associates. The five-campus group has a bed capacity for 625 residents.

He served as chief of staff for three years at Big Bend Regional Medical Center Hospital in Alpine, Texas.

He served the U.S. Army for two years as Captain Medical Officer and was honorably discharged in 1965.

In 1965, he founded House Medical Clinic, which grew to an 11-physician multispecialty medical clinic, in Killeen, Texas.

For 30 years he served as the Federal Aviation Administration Medical Examiner. The 71-year-old native of Mexico City, Mexico, grew up as the child of missionary parents, living in Monterrey, Saltillo and Puebla.

He earned a B.A. in biology from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1958, and his medical degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California in 1962.

Married for 50 years, he has three children. He resides in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
